KESTREL PREMIUM LAGER HAS ACHIEVED A NEW LISTING IN SUPERMARKET GIANT TESCO. THE HOLY BREWED BEER™ WILL ROLLOUT TO SCOTTISH SUPERMARKET SHELVES FROM MID-APRIL 2016, AND WILL BE AVAILABLE IN A 4x500ML CAN PACK FORMAT.
Brookfield Drinks are continuing to make substantial ground in expanding the availability of the iconic Scottish brew, and have recently achieved a major listing of its flagship 5% Premium variant in selected Tesco stores. The award-winning lager will be available in approximately 70 Tesco stores across Scotland from mid-April 2016. The product has seen considerable volume growth since launch, and has been awarded a highly-commendable silver medal in the 2015 Monde Selection awards, further reinforcing the quality brewing credentials and superb taste experience the lager possesses. As part of a major repositioning strategy, Kestrel has been relaunched and positioned as a premium value lager, whilst retaining the traditional recipe and brewing method of the fondly recognised Kestrel brand.
Scotland is unlike the rest of the UK with regards to the most popular beers, as its biggest-selling beer is a locally produced Scottish beer brand. Across other parts of the UK we tend to see the large international brands taking leadership within the market. Kestrel possesses a deep-rooted history in Scotland, providing full traceability through the entire ‘loch to lip’ process, which is going to appeal to key target markets. The increasing focus on quality of ingredients, true provenance and of course, a superb taste experience, is anticipated to see Kestrel once again fly as a firm British favourite. Kestrel Holy Brewed Beer™ is crafted using the Holy Brewing Method, which involves a 9-stage brewing process. This process includes a fermentation period of at least 7 days, including the Sabbath (traditionally longer than many other brews). Our Master Brewer insists on fermenting these superb ingredients for this guaranteed period of time to deliver the tempting aroma, golden colour and rich, complex flavour of Kestrel lager.
Nigel McNally, Managing Director at Brookfield Drinks added:
‘’We are incredibly excited by the new listing of Kestrel Premium Lager within Tesco, which is due to the high rates of sale we are seeing through existing Kestrel listings; not just in Scotland but elsewhere in the UK. Drinkers are really engaging with Kestrel Premium lager knowing that it has been crafted using the Holy Brewing Method. Kestrel Premium Lager is destined to become a leading premium lager in the UK.”
